Hi! I'm Jess

🌬️ A shift in the air (and a seed in your pocket)

Hi Reader!

Happy September! It’s still mostly green out there, but change is quietly creeping in.

I've been noticing the cypress trees are starting to trade their lush summer green for a hint of rust, and the evenings have settled into that perfect, open-window kind of cool.

It feels like the season is taking a long exhale 😮‍💨 inviting us to pause and notice the small, steady turn toward fall.

I've also noticed the goldenrod beginning to peek through, and the seed pods are starting to show up in the green spaces.

This late summer season is always one of my favorites. The time when blooming flowers and brittle stems live side by side, and fluffy pods ride the breeze like little messengers.

We’re standing in that liminal space between summer and fall.

Where the weather can’t make up its mind. Where one day you’re in shorts and the next you’re reaching for a sweater. (Don’t forget about that second summer that always sneaks in around late September, just when you thought it was time to switch to soup.)

This week, I invite you to savor what’s here during this in between phase.

🌾 Nature Connection Invitation- A Pocket-Sized Ritual

Seeds are everywhere right now, quietly carrying the memory of summer and the promise of what’s next. What if you let one become your daily reminder to pause?

Here’s how:

Step 1. Notice.
Next time you’re outside, keep an eye out for seed pods. Maybe it’s a milkweed bursting with fluff, or a dried coneflower holding tight to its seeds. Pick one up if you’re called to. Notice its shape, its weight, its texture.

Step 2. Reflect.
Can you feel the potential it holds? Every seed carries the full story of what came before; the bloom, the bees, the time spent soaking up light. All of that, compacted into something small and mighty enough to start again.

Step 3. Turn inward.
I wonder… what’s been ripening within you this season? What small, potent beginnings might be tucked inside, ready to be scattered or sown?

Step 4. Carry it with you.
Take a few quiet moments to be with that reflection. You might even tuck a seed into your pocket as a reminder.

👉 And if something beautiful or surprising comes up? I’d love to hear. Just hit reply and share what you noticed.

✨ And speaking of seeds… I’ve been tending one of my own.

The doors are now open for the Autumn Rhythm Reset - a 4-week women’s circle beginning on the Autumn Equinox. It’s an invitation to step out of the rush and into a slower rhythm, with weekly circles, guided forest bathing, and a closing bonfire under the autumn sky.

We’ll root down together on September 21, right as the season turns, and walk through a complete moon cycle as we recalibrate our energy, nervous systems, and inner rhythms.

I would love for you to join me! And if someone in your life comes to mind who might need this reset too, I’d be so grateful if you shared it with them. 💛

However this season is unfolding for you, I hope you find little ways to pause, breathe, and feel yourself rooted in the shift. 🌾

And if what you’re craving is simply a single moment of pause, I also have a full schedule of Forest Bathing events on my website this fall, you’re warmly invited to join me there too.

🍂 See you in the woods,
Jess
