Forwarded this email? Subscribe Here for more Hey there Reader, Even though the Summer Solstice was yesterday, it’s not too late to take a pause and mark the shift. I don’t know about you, but this weekend was so full for me with family gatherings and outings that I didn’t really get a chance to mark the Solstice the way I wanted to. And honestly, I think there’s something really lovely about doing that a day or two later, in your own time and in your own way. The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year. For hundreds of years, people across cultures have paused around this point in the season to celebrate the light, take stock of where they are, and honor the transition into summer. In our busy and fast paced world, I think that still matters, maybe even more now than it has in the past! We are part of nature, even if modern life tries to make us forget it. And when we take a moment to notice a threshold like this one, it can bring us back into the present in a really grounding way. Especially in a world that is constantly asking us to focus on what’s next, while our minds are often busy replaying what already happened.😵💫🥴 A seasonal touchstone like the Solstice can help us reconnect with where we are. And maybe even with who we are.So if you’d like to mark the shift in a simple way, here are a few easy invitations: Ways to Celebrate Summer Solstice that Deepen Your Connection with Nature & Yourself ☀️ Step outside, close your eyes, and feel the warmth of the sun and the earth beneath your feet. 🥾 Take a mindful walk in a natural setting. 🌻 Gather seasonal flowers or herbs to create a natural centerpiece or altar. 🌅 Soak up the sun during the day and watch the sunset. 😌 Take a pause to reflect on all that you’re grateful for. May the energy of the Solstice help you balance, release, and recharge.Whether you do one of these today, this weekend, or sometime next week, it still counts! The invitation is simply to pause long enough to notice the season you’re in. ☀️ A little summer update from me: I’m heading into my annual summer sabbatical from public events soon because, well... the oppressive St. Louis heat is real. During that stretch, I’ll be opening up a few spots for 1:1 coaching and will also be sharing more soon about my 🌻Summer Reset Sessions. » I’m also planning to spend some time this summer focusing on corporate wellness programming and outreach. You may not know this, but I bring a long history in health and wellness coaching to this work and am a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach. While nature is often the foundation of my work, I also teach on a number of health-related topics, including general wellness, eating for energy, attention restoration, cognitive renewal, and nature therapy as a stress management practice. I’ve collaborated with both larger organizations, like the BJC Community Health Improvement Group and Saint Louis Art Museum, and smaller teams on employee wellness programs ranging from indoor lunch-and-learns to full Forest and Nature Therapy sessions for team building and stress management. If that’s something your workplace might be interested in, or if you know someone I should reach out to, I’d be so grateful if you’d hit reply and share. As a small business, I really appreciate any tips, introductions, or contacts people are willing to pass along.🫶 I’ve also finally gotten around to sprucing up my LinkedIn page, so if you’d like to connect with me there, I’d welcome that too. 🥰 Whether you’re pausing to mark the Solstice, exploring ways to slow your pace this summer, or simply trying to carve out a few more moments outside, I hope you find some gentle ways to reconnect with yourself and the season you’re in. 🙌 Coming in Autumn!I'm so excited to be partnering with Flow State Holistic Health in the fall for a FAMILY Forest Bathing Session! Details are still coming together but if you want to be notified when registration opens be sure to get on the notification list! I get asked about this a lot so it's sure to sell out quickly.
