Hi Reader,

Is it just me, or is everyone talking about how fast October is flying by? I swear, we blinked and suddenly it’s almost Halloween! 🎃

And the weather? It finally feels officially, completely, without-a-doubt autumn. Time to dig out the cozy everything! Blankets, hoodies, shawls, that one favorite fuzzy hoodie you could basically live in. (Just me?)

Speaking of autumn coziness, thanks to that full day of rain last weekend, we had to reschedule one of my Missouri Botanical Garden Forest Bathing sessions. The silver lining: it’s now happening Monday evening, October 27th, for a special after-hours walk under the fall sky. 🌙

A few (very few!) spots opened up because of the date change, so if you’d like to join, you can grab your spot here → before they’re gone. (Seriously, after a semi-viral Instagram post, every other MOBOT session sold out fast, and I’ll be announcing this one publicly this weekend. As a subscriber, you get first dibs!)

And if you prefer your forest bathing in daylight, I still have a couple spots open for Turning Inward: Autumn Forest Bathing at The Nature Institute this Saturday morning, October 25th, right as the woods are hitting peak color. 🍁 Secure Your Spot Here→

Lately, I’ve been thinking about how this time of year holds both abundance and release.

How things can be so vivid and alive, even as they’re beginning to fade. It’s something I’ve been noticing on the trails, and it inspired this week’s invitation.👇

🍁 Nature Connection Invitation: The Beauty of Decay

This week, when you’re outside, whether it’s a quick walk, a moment on your porch, or just stepping out to get the mail, look for a leaf that’s no longer perfect.

Maybe it’s curled at the edges, speckled with brown, or half-eaten by a bug. Pick it up if you feel called to.

Hold it in your hand.

Notice its texture. Its scent. The colors that have shifted with time. The delicate veins that once carried water and light.

Now take a breath and let yourself really see it.

Not as broken, but as becoming.

Nature never rushes this part. It lets things fade, fall apart, and return to the earth to make something new.

I wonder what in you is softening, unraveling, or changing shape right now?

Can you see the beauty in that process, too?

You might keep the leaf on your desk or altar as a reminder that decay isn’t an ending, it’s part of the cycle of renewal.

👉 If this invitation opens something up for you, I’d love to hear what you noticed. Just hit reply and share. 🍂

In Peace, Presence and cozy hoodies,
