Hi! I'm Jess

💫 Today is Winter Solstice 🕯️

Hello there, Reader!

Today is the shortest day of the year. 🕯️ The solstice marks the moment of transition, when the long nights begin to ease, and the returning light reminds us that rest is always followed by renewal.

Just like the Earth, we’re in a season of quiet, of slowing down, and of gathering energy for what’s to come.

I've been in a healing cocoon from my ankle surgery since early November. Resting, sitting, slowing, doing a lot less than usual, and practicing finding the surrender button seemingly over and over. It's been frustrating at times, no doubt, but also liberating in a way.

How often do you wish you had a "good" excuse to not do something?

The world demands so much from us, and it's felt so nourishing to really listen to my body's cues to gauge what I'm able to do and what I just don't have in me to attend/produce/tend to.

It’s given me a forced reason to check in with myself and be honest about my capacity. I keep wondering why it takes something major like surgery for this kind of listening to feel justified.

I suspect this isn’t just my question.

So, on this day of transition and pause, I want to invite you to let this season meet you wherever you are. In whatever way feels physically and emotionally sustainable for now, and truly let that be enough.

One thing I know for sure is that no matter who you are, or what stage of life you're in, you are carrying something or healing from something right now. It may not be something you can put down for even a moment (or perhaps not ever) but I want to invite you to consider that it's ok for life, nature, family, friends, strangers even - to meet you exactly where you are.

Happy Winter Solstice Reader! ❄️

If you're wanting extra support in this season, I've opened up a few spots in my 1:1 nature based wellness coaching container - please book a free session with me here before the end of the year, to get a taste of what being supported by me is like.

And if you're looking for community connection and reconnection with yourself & nature my Winter Forest Bathing Walks are open for registration here and booking fast. The January session is already full, but hit reply and let me know if you'd like me to add a second session!

I hope you’ll find time to slow down this season and remember that the solstice reminds us that even in the darkest moments, the light is always returning.

Sending you warmth, light, and presence for the season ahead.
