Hi! I'm Jess

Want to feel calmer this week? Don’t do it alone

Greetings Reader,

Is it just me, or did time speed up this month? I feel like we’re on the cusp of a very slippery season. As soon as September closes and October begins, it can feel like a landslide to the end of the year.

I don’t know about you, but this starts to make me feel very anxious, like I need to start ‘getting things done’ because soon the year will be over.

Well - I’m not falling into that trap this year. For me, It leads to a lot of rushing around, doing things as quickly as possible, making lists and checking boxes in a way that makes me the opposite of present in my life. Can you relate Reader?

I’m committed to doing it different this year. Instead of racing the calendar, I’m practicing ways to slow time down. I'm working on a blog post about this that I'll share soon. But for now, I want to offer you one simple invitation that you can share with someone in your life.

🌿 Nature Connection Invitation: Shared Slowness

Life can feel endlessly busy, and it’s not always easy to give ourselves permission to slow down. Sometimes it feels more natural when we don’t do it alone. This week, I invite you to share a pause with someone you trust - a friend, partner, child, or parent.

Step 1. Pause together.
It doesn’t have to be long, maybe a short walk, standing on the porch, or sitting outside with tea. The difference is in your intention: to slow down, not just to catch up.

Step 2. Lean into your senses.
Take turns noticing aloud: What do you hear? A bird call, rustling leaves, a distant breeze? What do you feel? Cool air, a gentle wind? What do you smell? You might even take turns exploring a natural object with your eyes closed, sharing what you notice through touch.

Step 3. Ask each other, “What are you noticing?”
Let the answers be simple. Allow silence if it comes. This kind of shared attention can soften the moment and deepen connection.

I wonder what you’ll discover together. Does it feel different to be witnessed in stillness? What shifts when you share presence instead of just time?

No rules, no outcome. Just a reminder that slowness is contagious and sometimes, it’s easier to find when we offer it to each other.

👉 Will you try this, Reader? If you do, I’d love to hear what you noticed, just hit reply and share.

🍂If this Invitation Speaks to You...

That’s exactly what we’ll be practicing in Autumn Rhythm Reset, a 4-week women’s circle with forest bathing, conversation, and a closing bonfire under the stars. It’s about finding a rhythm together, one that sets the pace within us for the season ahead.

🍂 Autumn is your chance to reset.

Instead of rushing toward burnout this holiday season, imagine walking into winter with:

More stable energy and deeper sleep

Stress turned down and cravings softened

A steady rhythm you can return to, even when life feels full

Women beside you who are also choosing slow

Our journey starts October 5, just before the Harvest Full Moon, when nature invites us to pause and release. Over four weeks, we’ll reset together and close beneath November’s Supermoon with a closing campfire to celebrate and carry forward the rhythms we’ve reclaimed.

I would love to welcome you to this Reset! And if another woman in your life needs the same, please pass it on. 💛

“Honestly, this has been my favorite adult experience for myself. Forest Bathing with Jess connected me back with my inner child - it made me smile and feel completely at ease.”

-Chelsea S.

🍁 Golden September Morning Forest Bathing at Missouri Botanical Garden
Saturday, September 27th, 10:00am - 12:00pm

If you’ve been craving a pause or a way to mark the official start of fall, this Forest Bathing walk is for you.

Disconnect from the digital world and engage with the living tapestry of the Garden. Delve into shinrin-yoku, the Japanese art of forest bathing, and indulge in a sensory exploration amidst the flora.

Through gentle, sensory invitations, you’ll experience the Missouri Botanical Garden in a way that goes beyond sightseeing. You’ll breathe more deeply, notice more fully, and feel yourself recalibrate to the pace of nature.

This isn’t a hike, it’s a slow, restorative journey designed to awaken your senses and quiet your mind.

"My mood has improved, I feel a slowness, delight, and more connection to myself. I wasn’t worried about others, just able to tap into me. My nervous system is calm. Highly recommend Forest Bathing with Jess."

-Nina C.

Here’s to slowing time down this week 🐌 with small pauses, shared presence, and the rhythm that keeps up us present in the here and now.
