Forwarded this email? Subscribe Here for more Hi Reader, Do you ever get to the end of a week and realize how fast it all went? How much you did, how much you took in, and how little time there was to actually feel present inside any of it? That’s been on my mind a lot lately. What feels alive for me right now is noticing how much the consistency of spending time outside Sunday mornings in the Go Play Outside program over the past 5 weeks has shifted my sense of time. I used to notice this mostly on camping trips. Time would slow down in a way that felt almost impossible to access in everyday life. A weekend or week meant to be just about being outside seemed to create this invisible shield around me that felt protective, soft, and slow. For a long time, I think I believed I had to recreate that full camping experience to feel that way again. But what I’ve learned through my work as a Forest and Nature Therapy Guide, and what I’ve been reminded of through having a regular nature connection practice, is that you can build that feeling into your daily life when you make time for nature consistently. Making time to be outside, to be in the grass or sit on a park bench just allowing yourself time to look up at the trees moving, or the grass blowing, or the stillness of water in a puddle or pond. Going into summer with this body-felt assurance that I can move through this insanely busy and chaotic life slow and present feels sooooo good. And you can have that too, Reader. All It takes is intention and consistency. You can build your own nature therapy practice each week using these weekly emails as a anchor point, you can even download my Free Forest Therapy As a Self Care Practice guide to help you get started, or follow your own rhythms and build something uniquely your own. The important thing is to normalize giving yourself permission to just be.If you’d like to have a reset point to help you slip into a slower pace for summer, I’d love to have you join me for Summer Threshold Forest Bathing + Nature Therapy at The Nature Institute next month. It’s like a mini day retreat, just 35 minutes from the city, across the river in the beautiful Olin Conservation Area in Godfrey, Illinois. And if you’re looking for more personalized support in shifting your pace or starting the process of burnout recovery, I’ve got a few spots open for 1:1 coaching this summer. To explore options for 1:1 support, the first step is to book a complimentary Reset & Reconnect Clarity Chat with me. 🌿 This Week’s Nature Connection Invitation: Barefoot ConnectionFind a natural surface such as grass, soil, or sand. Kick off your shoes and spend some time barefoot. As you walk, sit, lie down, or stand, focus on the sensations under you: the texture of the ground, the temperature, and the feeling of connection with the Earth. Reflection: A Different Sense of TimeAfter spending a few minutes this way, take a moment to reflect on how time felt. Did it feel like things slowed down at all? Did those few minutes feel different than the pace of the rest of your day? You might also notice whether being this close to the ground changed anything about how your body felt, or how you were experiencing the moment. 💌 If you try this hit reply and let me know what you noticed! 🌾 Summer Threshold Forest Bathing at The Nature InstituteIf you’ve been craving a deeper reset, or just a little more room to breathe, this might be just the thing. It’s a chance to step out of the usual pace, spend time in a more spacious and peaceful landscape, and cross into summer with a little more intention.
