Hey there Reader,

Happy Sunday and almost June!

It's definitely feeling like summer these days for me. As I write this, I'm on my sun porch with the windows and door open to let in the sounds from outside and boy do the birds seem to have a lot to say these days!

My son is officially out of school so it's 💯 feeling like summer vibes over here. 😎

I don't know about you, but June always sneaks up on me and then summer rushes in with a fierce kind of busyness that feels different than other seasons. Yes, there are naturally more outdoor experiences (which is my jam) but also it feels easy to let time fly by because the weeks are so full.

This month I’m determined to slow it down. One of the best ways I know to do that, is to take a few minutes every day to be present.

To just notice the small and simple joys that mark the arrival of summer.

Things like the bird conversations in the mornings 🐦‍⬛, the way the air can feel thick and heavy, the sunlight casting light on the underside of trees late in the day. 🌅

These small joys are always there, waiting to be noticed if we just take a moment to look for them.

For June 🌿Nature Connection I’m sharing a printable I made for you to use all month to stay connected to yourself and nature.

Yes it's a printable - yes you SHOULD print it.

Analog paper stuff is one of my other passions and -trust me- it goes right along with slowing down and noticing nature. Try posting it to your fridge or somewhere visible to help you stay tuned in to your nature connection practice all month.

I even wrote a blog post to go with it (go me!) Check it out 👉 Why Simple Joys in Nature Matter.

And speaking of staying connected I've been working on some community presentations that I'm so excited to share about!

June 10th I'll one of the presenters at PechaKucha Night St. Louis! My working title is "Things I’ve learned watching people sit under trees." If you're not familiar with this presentation (I wasn't either) see the description below.

A kind participant at one of my Forest Bathing events suggested I do it so - here I am s-t-r-e-c-h-i-n-g myself! I would love to have you there if it sounds interesting. There are several other presenters and it seems like a lot of them are also nature related, you can learn more on my website. No registration to attend so just come out to Civil Life Brewing Co Wednesday night, June 10th and check it out!

On June 12th I'm sooooo proud to share that I'll be presenting at the Nature & Wellness Symposium: Nature, Health, and the Future of Learning put together by the Missouri Department of Conservation and the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation at Powder Valley Conservation Center.

If you're an educator and interested in learning more about how to bring nature into the classroom and learning experience you should check it out. I'll be facilitating three hands-on explorations of intentional outdoor experiences, their benefits for well-being, and practical methods for implementation in school settings. Registration is still open you are interested in attending, here the presentation schedule and here's where you can get the link to sign up.

🌿 This Month’s Nature Connection Invitation

June Simple Joys in NatureA printable 30 Days of Noticing Challenge to help you stay grounded and engaged with the natural world.

Each day offers you a new prompt to notice one tiny thing and write it down in just a word or two.

It's not a to-do list, it's meant to create a rhythm of noticing. No pressure. No streaks. Just presence.

Try printing it out and keeping it somewhere visible - like your fridge or desk.

🌿 Want to slow down together in person?

MO Botanical Garden sessions are sold out, but you can still join me at the beautiful Nature Institute just across the river in Godfrey, IL to mark the transition into summer I'll be guiding a more wild experience at one of my FAVORITE places in the area. The Nature Institute is a peaceful, magical and deeply restorative setting, it about 35 mins from the city but sooooo worth the drive!

Summer Threshold Forest Bathing Experience at The Nature Institute

Saturday, June 13 - 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM – The Missouri Botanical Gardens
🎟️ $35 per participant - at The Nature Institute, Godfrey, IL | Registration Required | Limited Spots

As we move toward the Summer Solstice, the days stretch long and full, light lingering well into the evening. This time of year carries the invitation to expand a little… to follow what feels alive… and to notice where energy is naturally building in your life.

This guided Forest Bathing walk is a chance to step into that rhythm with intention. Together, we’ll slow down, settle into the landscape, and attune to the fullness of early summer, lush greens, warm air, and the buzz of nature’s bloom into summer.

Coming in July!

I'm so excited to be partnering with Flow State Holistic Health in July for a FAMILY Forest Bathing Session! Details are still coming together but if you want to be notified when registration opens be sure to get on the notification list! I get asked about this a lot so it's sure to sell out quickly.

Whether you’re printing out the June prompts, coming to an event, or simply pausing for a few quiet breaths outside today, I hope this season offers you space to notice the good, soak up the sun, and feel more connected to what matters.

Sending you sunshine, slow moments, and all the simple joys,
Jess 🌻
